WOMEN'S FORUM -FIMI

The International Indigenous  Women Forum (FIMI) is a global network that promotes the articulation of indigenous women leaders and human rights activists from different parts of the world, to agree on agendas, build capacities and develop leadership.

 

Among the main programmatic axes, FIMI develops political advocacy in various international and high-level spaces. In addition, FIMI promotes the Global Leadership School for Indigenous Women by offering  unique training opportunities for Indigenous Women of the world; FIMI promotes the Observatory of Indigenous Women against Violence and the AYNI Fund, created to accompany the development of initiatives and projects led by Indigenous Women in Latin America, Asia, Africa and the Pacific.

AYNI INDIGENOUS WOMEN FUND

"AYNI" is a Quechua / Kichua word, its meaning is reciprocity, equality and justice from the indigenous worldview. FIMI's AYNI Fund is created and directed by and for Indigenous Women, based on an innovative intercultural philanthropy, which objective is to accompany and co-invest human, financial and material resources with women of indigenous organizations and communities, in order to achieve compliance with their Human Rights, both individual and collective.

Currently FIMI's AYNI Fund has 4 lines of action:

  • Seed and up scaling Projects.

  • Support Fund for Indigenous Peoples IPAF [Call open now]

  • Leading Program from the South. [Call open now]

LEADING FROM THE SOUTH PROGRAM

Leading from the South (LFS) is a special fund created to support human rights activism, shaped, implemented and led by organizations, groups of women from the global south, working for political, social empowerment and economic development of women and gender equality.

LFS is a grant program funded by the Netherlands’ Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which is a joint program, implemented by three regional women's Funds: Women from the South Fund (Sub-regional, operated out of Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay, although implementing initiatives throughout Latin America and the Caribbean region),the African Women Development Fund (Africa and the Middle East), Women's Fund Asia, and a global fund, FIMI’s AYNI Fund, which is the first and only fund directed by and for indigenous women in Latin America, Asia, Pacific and Africa.
